Transmission Line Construction Oversight

Think Power's construction oversight employees verify that owner's design and contract intent is satisfied in the as-built asset based on the actual conditions encountered during construction. Our staff also provide input on best practices to coordinate and verify a safe workplace in the field. Our overall objective is to improve the construction process, provide inputs to implement adequate safety practices, and verify engineering design intents are accomplished during the construction process across the United States. Our transmission construction oversight employees have thousands of years of utility experience and have worked in substations and switching stations with voltages from 69kV to 765kV. Typical responsibilities include:
  • Understand and ensure compliance with client standards
  • Verify design specifications are implemented during construction
  • Collaborate with client and contractor to resolve engineering, and constructability challenges

  • Verify compliance with environmental issues
  • Verify Right of Way (ROW) are protected
  • Work with landowners to provide access roads
  • Comply w/outage and Non-Reclose Order (NRO) requests
  • Switching and tagging procedure after client training
  • Understand and ensure compliance with grounding of lines and equipment
  • Inspectors trained and certified as per utility standards in barehand work
  • Experts in barehand maintenance inspection
  • Inspectors trained in hot stick work such as raising phases to upgrade pole heights on energized lines
  • Reviewing material and verifying the quantities and correct material are on site
  • Our employees are trained in foundation installations and understand the process from verifying depths, rebar cages, anchor bolt patterns, installation and testing of concrete
  • Our employees have internal apps to provide daily reports to our clients with pictures and a description of work completed.
  • Our employees have electronic forms to verify critical tasks have been completed, like a pole jacking, stringing and sagging, and foundation data
